Travel Awards
The HealthEmotions Research Institute will provide $300 for travel and 2 nights gratis hotel accommodations for 25 students to attend the Wisconsin Symposium on Emotion and participate by presenting posters during the Wednesday evening poster session and reception. The 2012 travel award competition will open for submissions on February 1 and close on March 1. Winners will be announced on March 8, 2012 and notified by email.
Travel Award Eligibility:
Undergrad, graduate, doctorate, and post-doctorate level students are eligible to apply for a travel award.
Travel Award Application Procedures
Please submit your application to balchen@wisc.edu in the form of one PDF file that contains the following documents in this exact order:
- Application (click here to download application.doc)
- Current CV
- Abstract (not to exceed 250 words) for the poster you will be presenting
- One page personal statement of research interest
- A letter from your mentor that includes a statement of student merit
This is a competitive award. The entries will be judged by HealthEmotions faculty members and the winner will be notified by March 08, 2012.
Poster Session
A hallmark of the Wisconsin Symposium on Emotion is the poster session held on the first evening of the conference. Attendees gather to review posters, drink cocktails, and nosh on appetizers. This intimate evening allows participants a special opportunity to meet and discuss their work with the speakers and with fellow colleagues. This year the poster session will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012
Poster Session Application
Poster abstracts should be limited to 250 words and will be accepted starting February 1. The deadline for submission is April 1, 2012. Please use this application to submit your poster and send it to balchen@wisc.edu.
Poster dimensions: 42" wide and a maximum of 48" tall
